Any idea of the reason for current cancellations at Hastings (The usual non specific 'an incident' is all that is being reported). My daughter is trying to get back to London and everything cancelled till 14:00. If it's a fatality then I assume the lines won't be open any time soon so I'll direct her to take one of the buses being put on to Tunbridge Wells. It looks like trains are still running from Bexhill so maybe better to take a Taxi to there assuming they are accepting tickets from Hastings.

The forums advice would be much appreciated! As always local knowledge is of great help.

A quick Google of National Rail website and it shows all lines now reopen obviously with delays as service recovers.

Below taken from website
Some services will terminate and restart from Bexhill where possible. If you are travelling between Bexhill and Hastings you should delay travel until later.

Southeastern are running a replacement bus service between Hastings and Tunbridge Wells, if you are travelling towards London you may want to use this and connect with a train service from there.

Suicidal male. Fortunately it has all ended without any ‘trouble’.

A grim prospect. The Hastings line might be exceedingly slow, but the south A21 is generally awful even after the Lamberhurst bypass.

Would be interested to know why tunbridge wells when Battle and Wadhurst are perfectly reasonable turnaround locations and usually used during engineering work blockades.

so services are returning to normal but is the marsh link to Ashford a viable alternative route? Otherwise pick up a service at bexhill and if necessary change at Lewis or Brighton.

Robertsbridge was used more often than not as far as I've experienced. At Battle the level crossing is on the wrong side of the station and would have to remain closed for quite some time.

Possibly due to crew workings

Because there are slightly more trains there?
