Hey everyone, question about the two collections of DLR Rolling stock.

I was wondering what the differences are between the B90, B92 and B2K stocks for the DLR. This question can be extended to the differences between the B07 and B09 stocks.

Are the only differences date of order/delivery, or are there any visual/internal differences between the collections?

Mainly each order was complying with steadily tightening accessibility legislation so they had progressively more disability friendly features.

The difference between the second gen units and the third gen units was they were a completely updated model of the same design taking advantage of tech advances, they had better performance in all areas, redesigned interiors and bodyshells and the B07 were the first units that were three car from new (older ones later lengthened).

The "older" units did have some detail differences initially, but in a big refresh early this century of them all they were pretty much standardised.

The accessibility requirements led, among other things, to the passenger emergency alarm being resited low level at the wheelchair/pram position by the articulation, exactly where little fingers from inside the pram are likely to explore that big red button!

I believe the B90 initially had the older ATO system whereas the B92 had the current system from scratch, so there are likely some bolt holes etc around and underneath the former where the old equipment used to be attached.

As a passenger, the only way to tell a B90 from a B92 from a B2K is the unit number. The same goes for the B07 and B09.
