My daughter is trying to book a trip to London (Stratford) from Newcastle for February.

Looking at 'normal' NCL - KGX - NCL fares, there seem to be several changes on each route, but when she puts in her final destination, it looks better. (See image)

Does the price shown include the actual London Underground fare please ?

Yes. The general rule is that fares for journeys involving crossing between Termini in London include the tube (etc).

Your daughter might want to book to Stratford International and use the SE Javelin service from St Pancras HL for convenience. It may (or may not) be a fraction more expensive, and it is less frequent than Thameslink+Elizabeth Line.

Thanks for that

Yes, a couple of quid more, but gets to Stratford 10 minutes earlier and a 34-minute wait at St Pancras

She can decide

Your daughter should be aware that part of the main line is closed on Sunday 11th, which probably explains why there’s various changes of train necessary that day. No trains on the main line between Grantham and Huntingdon.

Yes, noticed that on the LNER site .. several changes, including a section with bus travel.

That ticket in the image, has only one change, at Sheffield XCountry and East Midlands .. are these not on the ECML

No that will be on the Midland Mainline from London St Pancras through Leicester, Derby and ending at Sheffield switching to CrossCountry from there on to Newcastle.

King's Cross is just across the road, but there's plenty of stuff to see there, including the Harry Potter stuff.
