I have booked a rail ticket for travel next week using Northern , i usually choose the option to collect them from the ticket machine, however i have mistakenly selected the e ticket option (i was obviously not paying attention!) and so they were e mailed to me. As i am unable to print them i opened the PDF for the tickets and have taken a photo of the QR code that represented each ticket from my computer. Would this mean my tickets QR codes can be scanned by the conductor by just showing him/her the photos i took? and if not could i go to a Northern ticket office to see if they can issue them ? any help would be appreciated, i am not tech savvy to say the least!!

Can you not download the pdf to your phone? That’s what eTickets are designed for.

No need to take photos and I'd not recommend doing that.

Simply download the PDF onto your phone (or any other device) and show the PDF

e-tickets are super convenient as they can either be printed or shown on a screen (your choice) and they can be shown on any device; the device only needs to be online at the time the e-ticket is saved onto the device.

What he said, try it once it may change you future purchases, but I may be biased.
