The eastboiund platform 5 at Ealing Broadway is now really busy with the Elizabeth line service as well as the GWR trains to Paddington. But it's only got a very short canopy and there's a lack of shelters going down the platform. Bit of an oversight? Are there any plans to improve things?

It's quite a topsy-turvy station now Ealing Broadway. You've got the District line with its grand shed which is semi-abandoned and the crowds for the Elizabeth line/GWR with a couple of bus stop shelters on the platform.

It could really do with an almost full length canopy installed similar to what they have for the Central line on the Liz/GWR platforms and a bit of imagination put to bringing the large space in the District line shed back to good use. Maybe shortening the platforms and moving the coffee shops in there with a waiting area created.

Think you’re referring to platform 4; platform 5 is one of the two Central Line platforms.

I wonder what's happening to the new toilets they have on the ticket hall level? They've been under construction for months and the gents under the stairs are completely battered and pretty much falling to bits.

I used the men's at Ealing Broadway the other day. It's new, spacious, well-designed in my opinion, busy and has already been used by one or two unhygienic people.

There was definitely some work ongoing for extra canopy space, but I think the work is focussed on the Platform 2/3 area right now with regards to permanent fencing which still isn't in place and gates between the platforms.

Often people hang around there, but then move down once the train arrives if, for instance, it is raining. It's going to be more busy but in some ways not; there's less churn now with people getting off as they'll just stay on board for through services to C. London although those that want Westfield / Shepherds Bush / Notting Hill will still probably opt for the Central Line, but its certainly less than before.

They've opened last month and the old toilets have actually been concreted off.
