East Lancashire Railway Diesel Gala

In case you haven’t seen details of it the ELR Diesel Gala is taking place in a few weeks, full details can be found here: https://www.eastlancsrailway.org.uk/events-activities/summer-diesel-gala/

Visiting locos include:
  • 2x Class 20’s (courtesy of LSL)
  • Class 26, 26007 (courtesy of Victor Korzeniewicz)
  • Class 37, 37703 (courtesy of Harry Needle Railroad Company)
  • Class 60, 60046 (Courtesy of DC Rail)
I haven’t yet seen what is running on each day.

If anyone knows when the 60 is timetabled please feel free to share.

Also, does anyone know why the Gala isn’t also running on a Sunday?

How soon do the ELR usually release the allocation to the timetable? It's only 10 minutes away, and the 60 is a must for me. But I would need to book a day off work, and its cutting a bit fine for my place.

I imagine that the 60-hauled services will be wedged.

While I have never had one for haulage I can't say I am that fussed.

Plenty of locos should be working, appealing to all tastes.

I'll probably stick to the English Electric traction.

Sunday is a day for a steam hauled diner train, so just like other railways their gala is Thursday to Saturday. The SVR started this great idea and it is now used by many, sometimes Sunday is advertised as mixed traction

KWVR was purely diesel Friday to Sunday inclusive

The East Lancs webpage has been updated slightly (yesterday) and they've added "allocations will be available shortly".

20096/107, 26007 & 37703 have arrived.
60046 and 68031 in on Wed, 60046 as above, 68031 LD 12.31 from Walton Old Junc -ELR.

Four moves out on Mon, 3 above + D345 to 10A
