Just an article in Rail express magazine suggesting that the Welsh assembly have found the money to allow re-singnalling work to be carried out at newport to allow a hourly ebbw vale to nwport train service to start operating from 2010.
Supposed to be opened before the ryder cup starts, so believe that might have influenced them.
The only problem is that there really arent any spare trains to provide this service unless arriva call back the 5 class 150 dmus from first great western or perhaps they shouls use a class 33/class 20 with a few mark 2 stock coaches and a dvt unless they manage to find some additional stock from elsewhere, maybe a few new class 172 dmu's perhaps?
