Hi guys,
What sort of freight can be seen daily between Newcastle and York? I'd imagine a lot of FL Coal trains... If you could also list the operator with the service that would be appreciated.

Cheers.

well when I go tit northallerton you get the class 60 hauled oil train south at about 9 30, you also get a fair few gbrf coal trains and some freightliner coals, and then the dbs tarmac trains and drs scrap trains which go through to redcar and stockton respectivley

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I'm wondering what freight goes through Longniddry.
I've seen a couple of Frightliner and DBS coal trains, but I haven't been there much.

Daily. From powderhall to (now I found my QUAIL) I think, Dunbar Rail terminal (Viridor Waste MAnagement) with it directly opposite Oxwellmains, coming ioff the UP line as Oxwellmains cement comes off the down line. Roughly 2miles east of Dunbar station.

the gravel pits north of this siding si where teh waste ends up. The white containers are the ones into which the refuse is packed. I assume there to be 2 sets -
Day 1 - A is packed at edinburgh and transported to Oxwellmains. Sety B is empty and returned to Edinburgh for loading overnight.
See http://www.scot-rail.co.uk/page/Headcodes for headcodes but in summary
0B41 Millerhill-Powderhall
6B41 Powderhall-Oxwellmains
6B44 Oxwellmains-Powderhall officially 1119 ex Oxwellmains
OB44 Powderhall-Millerhill

Afraid not just up to Tees Dock and Redcar?? i think

They're rare from Redcar at the moment but flows from Widdrington and North Blyth are fairly common now. GBRf had a temporary flow from New Cumnock but that stopped a while back.
