I will be changing LNER trains at EDB from the Up Highland Chieftain to the 1200 to London Kings Cross.
The Chieftain arrives usually on Plaftform 2 and the 1200 to KGX departs Platform 5, am I correct and saying this is a straight forward change and I do not have to go all the way to the barriers and back again as I would have to for a Platform 6 departure.
At my age every step less is of benefit, I would have changed at Newcastle but it was a seat avilability issue. TIA

Correct, although first class is at the London end of the train, so you will have to walk the full length of the train to leave platform 2, and then again to the front at platform 5. I believe you can join platform 5 at any point as the fence isn't continuous.

Thank you Alex, the walking becomes a problem as one gets old, sometimes I go in LNER Standard class for an easy exit, such as Dundee.
