Elizabeth western branch to Tottenham Court Road (Underground Station)

Why does the National Rail website offer a bizarre interchange if a user selects the underground station rather than the "Elizabeth line" station?

For example, Slough to Tottenham Court Road (Underground Station):

It proposes I do:
Slough -> Farringdon -> Blackfriars -> Tottenham Court Road (Underground Station)

This adds about 40 mins extra journey time!

Maybe it seeks to maximise use of NR services before the underground leg?!! That said I've got a 13 hour itinerary advising Taxi/Night bus from Paddington for a journey leaving shortly before midday

I wonder if whatever data NRE is using has a very limited set of links available to ZTC (Tottenham Court Road underground), perhaps some links were removed and/or transferred to the crossrail station when crossrail opened but for some reason the link from Blackfriars was missed and remained associated with ZTC.

I notice the other underground stations on the EL core between paddington and Liverpool street do not seem to have seperate entries on NRE at all.

BRtimes has heard of a number of underground stations but doesn't seem to have heard of ZTC at all. It lists serveral fixed links from TCR (TOTTENHAM COURT ROAD EL)
