You'll need to give us scheduled and actual arrival times at, presumably, Paddington, for us to judge whether £5.11 is correct.

Someone else may be able to answer the other query

How late was the train / arrival at final destination where you alighted?

How long ago was this?

What ticket did you hold? (single / return etc)

How long has elapsed since they sent you £5.11 compensation?

Did you have the option to Appeal the outcome of your claim if you thought it was wrongly calculated and did you take that option?

£5.11 is c 12% of the £42 fare you cite

12.5% is the sum paid for delays of 15-29 minutes when using a return ticket as set out here

Does this reflect your delay and your ticket? Or do you think they have assumed you had a return ticket when you had a single (also any chance you may have ticked the wrong box ref ticket held on a claim form?)
