Delays at Euston. “ Incident” at Bushey, according to the screens. I hope it’s not serious. I an at Euston now. It seems like things are working ok. Although it is a bit crowded.

Well done to Nick, train manager on @AvantiWestCoast for keeping us updated on 16.30 out of Euston after a brick landed on the driver’s windscreen. Although delayed, whole situation was well managed. Hope driver is ok
Further tweets also mention trespassers.

If it really was trespassers throwing a brick at the cab, they really do need to use the full force of the law. That is literally putting the drivers' life at risk, with the potential for something far more horrendous.

Big IF at the moment.

LNR 2T48 and 2T55 also hit.
2T55 suffered a broken side window so for a time both down lines blocked.

There is no punishment that can actually be administered which is actually effective against certain individuals, unfortunately. The sort of individuals who carry out such acts won't be bothered with any punishment that could actually be issued.

If it's kids involved, the police seem keen to avoid criminal convictions (for example, near me recently, a brown belt in martial arts did a premeditated vicious attack against a kid on their way to school, and was just given some sort of caution, and the school was only able to suspend them for a few days, despite clear video footage of the incident being available).

Sadly the "well hard " people who do things like this , usually do it from footbridges where the chances of being caught are around zero sadly. They also have no idea of the damage they may do and lives they ,may affect.

This is at least the fifth recorded incident at the same location within the last month, and yes the time of day is always around the same time, between 4pm and 5pm.

If they are caught. Unfortunately, they are likely to disappear from the scene pretty sharpish with no record of actions.

Sounds like there's a specific need for proactive (or undercover) BTP patrols.
