Extra train cleaners Leeds

For the weekend of July 4th Northern Recruitment Group are wanting extra cleaning staff, you will be trained at Neville Hill.

Is it worth it just for a weekend or would it help you get a full time job, you can gain skills if you want to get a job on the railway.

I have just been taken on as a Train Presentation Operative through an agency Northern Recruitment Group to work with Northern this week right through to tour de france weekend. The experience will look good on a CV and could be used to try and get a foot in the door of the railway industry.

Last night had my induction at Leeds Train station with Northern and it was great meeting the Northern cleaning team, the tour of station and bombarding them with questions about how to get foot in door with Northern Rail. By working for the agency doing temp work with Northern, I seem to be heading in right direction to getting my foot in door with railway industry.

gutted I didn't see these advert the other week phoned and emailed northern rail even offering to volunteer this weekend ,to use it as good experience for my cv , but thy couldn't offer me anything

Sorry to here about this Boro, how about if you try contacting Northern Recruitment Group and see if they have any places left or even register with them as Northern use NRG quite a lot and I believe this is the only recruitment agency they use, but I could be wrong.

Hello Darren I was based at York last week, we must have traiuned at Nev hill at same time, not sure who to contact for references ect.

Hello NevilleHill,
I remember who you are and I was training with you at Nevillehill. Yes I was based in Leeds and knew you were going to York.
Use NRG for references and contact is Rebecca Chittell (Not sure I have spelt her surname right). Now that we have some railway experience with Northern and being registered with NRG, this seems to be the only recruitment agency, Northern seem to use this will look good when applying for jobs on application forms/CV. I am keeping my doors open and looking at other TOC vacancies too. I am constantly looking out for vacancies every day at the following TOC; Northern, Eastcoast, Grandcentral, Cross Country, First Group, East Midlands, DB Shenka, Freightliner and Direct Rail Services.
Also I check Railway Forums website as members tend to mention about jobs that are advertised.

Good to hear from you again. Where did you see this train cleaning job advertised? Just surprised I havent seen this as I check Northerns website everyday and NRG too.

Ha Ha, just found this train cleaning job advertised on NRG website. This is a great opportunity. I would have applied for this, if this was a permanent position and within an hours travel of where I live. The search continues lol

Do you know anymore agencies that provide cleaners for East Midland trains and Virgin ect cheers.

This agency suplies workers for cleaning Cross country, they do cleaning at Crofton depot in West Yorks.

Hi Nevillehill,
Thanks for sharing that link, I will be checking out Shortterm shortly.
As you know know Northern share Neville hill depot with East Midland trains, so it might be worth contacting Neville Hill depot to find out what agency they use. For other TOC, I would be tempted to google info to gain info on agencies they use.
Blue Arrow in Sheffield have connections with TPE, they were advertising Trainee Conductor job on behalf of TPE a while ago and possibly could be supplying other temp roles such as cleaning staff too. Hope this info helps.
