I was at Bedford on the 30th Dec (a wednesday but with a saturday timetable operating over the christmas period) and one worked the 0934 St Pancras-Bedford, I would just go to Bedford or another station (Luton, St Albans etc.) and just wait a couple of hours and a pair is bound to turn up.

On saturdays they terminate at St Pancras, does anybody know which platforms they use?

A and B but I don't know which is in which direction, one of them is arrival and the other is departure at weekends when works is taking place.

They arrive at A and depart from B, which means they must run into the tunnel to a certain distance.

Interesting on the 09:34, though I guess it can be random considering what the drivers are doing ATM.

There was signalling work over x-mas you can now terminate in both platforms, and turn back in both, you can now go down the up, and up the down.

377 do not come out to play on saturdays.

Ah ok thanks anyway I will go Waterloo and try out a refurbished SWT class 455 (I know they have been like that for a while now but it should be a little bit easier :D)

Are the fixed signs able to cope with that? At the moment there are quite obvious 'southbound' and 'northbound' signs that can't be changed. That's bound to cause confusion - and changing platform isn't a two second operation either.

They do now Westcoaster but ONLY diagrams I have are for when the Core is closed. One 8 car 377/5 does a St Pancras - Bedford - St Pancras - Bedford then sleeps for the night.

Infact they should do all day sunday between London Bridge and Brighton during closures.

As for when the Core's open, when that mainly depends on trained drivers. Tho lately its depended on what stock is actually able to run and the driver on it. Was a case the other week a driver took a unit to Brighton and back on a saturday but there was no relief driver until he returned to Bedford.

Any one who wants the diagrams they are up on yahoo groups already. Or PM me for more info (tho don't expect a quick reply this week!)

Last time I checked I think it was all Bedford fast from Platform A and all stations to Bedford went from platform B. Thats how it was after xmas with the Core shut down until problems screwed that up. They used to have to go to nearer Farringdon until the crossovers north of St Pancras were comissioned a while ago.
