I recently watched the video 125 on the C2C / LT&S line and noticed there are still many freight / goods sidings that appear to be in use. Does anyone know what the current freight services are on the LT&S lines? My interest is in building a simulation of the LT&S in the C2C era for the Train Dispatcher simulation program. Thanks in advance

Remember that the trains marked with a "(Q)" are "runs as required", in other words are slots in which a train can run, but may not.

Liner traffic to Tilbury FLT, London Gateway and Tilbury Riverside, stone traffic to Dagenham, Purfleet/West Thurrock and automotive to Dagenham Dock (fords) including the famous blue train from Valencia and imported cars from Purfleet. Not forgetting the recently started international traffic off of HS1 to Ripple Lane and occasional MOD traffic to Shoeburyness, (though this is the only freight to run via Laindon).

That said in the recent past 1980s into the early 2000s there was cement traffic from West Thurrock and oil traffic from Thames Haven (at its busiest up to 20 trains a day tripped to Ripple Lane in the winter) as well. Scrap and steel to Grays and scrap to Upton Park and a daily loco hauled parcels train from Liverpool Street to Southend East, that ran until the new terminal was provided at Southend Vic. This train used to set back from Tilbury East Junction into tilbury Riverside for unloading and early morning newspaper trains from Liverpool Street worked by the dedicated class 308/2 EMUs which included a motor luggage coach instead of a normal passenger carrying vehicle.

Thanks for all the help. making good progress on the territory, now I just have to enter train data on a zillion trains :( including ECS movements. Found I can get those from the realtimetrains site by selecting "nonpassenger" but it's a bit tedious matching up the ecs with the passenger runs. I hadn't realized what variety there was in a line that I thought was a glorified commuter line.

BTW to keep things a bit more manageable I decided for now to concentrate on the Barking to Tilbury part (as far as Stanford-le-hope and the London Gateway), including the Grays to Upminster line, this focuses on the more interesting bits.
