Anyone know any details? What’s the routes from this depot like? Shift patterns? Salary? If you’re there now do you enjoy it?

Thanks!

Drivers I’ve spoken to seem to like it, one of the better IM depots work wise. This might be out of date but as I remember it:

£60k (payrise pending negotiations) with RPS
Routes are Gateway - Wembley/Reading/Peterborough and possibly Rugby plus Reading - Ipswich

The night work isn’t too bad, only a couple of turns finish after 3am and plenty of one way work then pass/taxi back. I suppose that could change with the Felixstowe ships moving to Gateway this year.

12 Saturdays (normally done by midday) and 1 Sunday per year. There are a few Friday nights though compared to the rest of the week.

8hrs min for a rest day plus £40
4hr movement from spare

This is my old depot, very good place to work IMO! Proper roster too (as in you know what you are doing fairly far in advance).

Sounds good, so do you know your start times in advance too, or often getting moved off spare?

When I was there there weren't too many spare turns; other than those yes you know your start times in advance

I work here.

It is exactly as Indistinct member has described, as well as Martin. Very relaxed atmosphere with no pressure.

Depot is Tilbury docks but predominantly work out of Gateway.
Don't need to book on at depot etc and Spare from home.

How does the Intermodal side compare to the Heavy Haul side of the business? I notice they have some HH vacancies too.

Sounds a decent number, have always heard intermodal is similar to pass work in terms of knowing what you are doing week in week out

Intermodal has always been good. I started there when we got tuped in 1998 I think.......Link wise, weekends were very limted and seeing drivers today, pretty much the same. I left a number of years ago as I felt under valued. Looking at Avanti and LNER drivers pay and conditions at the time was way above a FLT driver that sort of done the same route North.

I do miss the freight as everyday is different and as a whole, Freightliner Intermodal is pretty good especially having a WTT roster which you can see what your doing. I think Intermodal is one of the better FOC's to go with in my opinion, and enjoyed my time there. If I was going to go back, Intermodal would be the one, even with the low wage.
