Hello, my name is John Disley and I have just completed my first book critically examining the career of Sir Nigel Gresley. I have objectively analysed his complete output from his appointment as CME of the Great Northern Railway in 1911, through to his sudden death in 1941, and his legacy beyond. In the book I have raised pertinent questions whether he was a genius, a self-indulgent showman, or indeed both.
