Fancy a month of rail travel in Germany this summer?

New name, almost the same conditions:

One Month of rail travel in Germany.
First possible day of validity: 23rd June 2011.
Last possible day of validity: 31st August 2011.
One person 299€, two persons 399€, youth up to 26 years 249€.

Available at DB ticket counters and ticket machines (for long distance tickets) - no need to book ahead.

Yes, it's valid on most (but not all) railway services in Germany.

Unfortunately the details are a bit more complicated.

It is valid where the DB tariff is accepted (even if run by other companies like the Mittelrheinbahn Köln-Mainz). And it is valid where the "DB/NE Wechselverkehr" is accepted. These are most non DB short distance railway services. Some person has collected a list in http://www.drehscheibe-foren.de/foren/read.php?3,4297919,4297919#msg-4297919 under the DB/NE subheading.

It is NOT valid anywhere else. These includes private long distance trains like the Interconnex, the SEE and SBB tariff and those who accept only their own tariff ("Eigener Tarif") (see in the mentioned list under those subheadings).

As a railway ticket it is also NOT valid on most busses, trams, the Schwebebahn etc.

It might also be of interest that there are a few tracks and stations in neighbouring countries where the DB tariff -and so this ticket- IS valid. See under the subheading "als Ergänzung noch die nutzbaren Strecken im Ausland".
