Although the GCR has two TPO sets (LNER and Mk1's) I don't think either will be running. They are being overhauled and steady progress is reported in MainLine. The Mk1 set has Tender 80458 completed and painted. Work has started on Brake BPOT 80458 then the rake will be prepared for running again. I'm sure there will be a big announcement when they are ready to do demonstrations again.

The TPO is apparently expected back in service in 2025, according to that Main Line magazine article. Announcements will surely be made when it happens!

The Autumn Gala this coming weekend (Thursday to Sunday) should have something like 6 steam and a diesel loco, with 3 passenger trains plus a DMU, 2 freight trains (vans + tanks). These will run about 26 return journeys daily (inc freight). So about 3 trains each way per hour average in daytime, and as much operational interest as it can fit in.
I am certainly looking forward to it.

Having been privilged to attend one of its Galas in the last couple of years, all I can say is 'if you are thinking of attending' do'.

It was well worth the expense as similar to this year's Autumnal offering, there were seven or eight locos parading up and down. An amazing variety, and well organised.

The weather is looking good for this and there is an intensive timetable. The Boscastle Shed Tours are taking place on Sat and Sunday. No booking required and they are free, but a donation towards Boscastle's overhaul is appreciated. There is the Windcutter Sales /Information stand at Rothley C & W shed on both days.
