Greater Anglia First Class Refunds

All - What is your experience with getting refunds from Greater Anglia for not providing First Class on services that they should have done?

At the moment I'm trying to claim for several journeys that they substituted a Stansted Express 745 in for an Intercity one, one from a few weeks ago and one from last weekend and I've not heard a peep out of Greater Anglia, despite filling in the correct form.

How long is reasonable to give them before I start to pressure them?

I have found the refunds easy to get on the couple of occasions I have had cause to apply. They don't send any acknowledgement of the refund application though, which is a bit of a pain.

I would give them four weeks, chase it at that point through social media or by phoning. If still no success after another two weeks, I'd send a Letter Before Claim giving them two weeks to pay before I began Court proceedings.

The NRCoT doesn't set a specific deadline for them to respond, but it's a clear-cut matter of breach of contract, and likely also of various provisions of the Consumer Rights Act which give rise to a higher entitlement than the rather miserly NRCoT minima.

When I held a Greater Anglia 1st class season ticket. I obtained a refund of the difference when the carriage containing 1st class was locked out of use.

10 working days is the service level agreement to provide you with a first response
