Hello all, just looking to see if anyone has had a similar situation or knows perhaps what might be happening as I'm slightly disheartened after finally managing to get into something I'd really enjoy!

I applied for a trainee Conductor role, and was given the role pending a successful medical.

I passed my medical but have now been told that role is no longer required due to internal review and that they will contact me with any courses when they come up and I'm now in the talent pool for 6 months.

I'm unsure as to wether this means something will come up and that I should wait, or if it's just a generic something might and if not then that's it.

Any advice would be much appreciated as I'm so disappointed to hear this after passing the medical.

Thanks

It means the former, you have to wait and see if another vacancy arises otherwise your application will "expire" after 6 months.
Thank you, I'm just confused as to why I'd get a provisional offer based on a medical then seemingly suddenly the job no longer exist. Struggling to get my head around it after being so happy to get the initial offer.

Which Location did you apply for ?
GA normally advertise for conductor roles every 3 months so there a good chance you will still have a job

Yeah, can understand why that'd be painful! I guess you'll never know for sure, but maybe the person who was going to leave decided not to, maybe their was an internal transfer, maybe they decided not to increase depot headcount or similar.
