Why has the Harlow area seen so many bus operators come and go over the years? EOS, Trustybus and Roadrunner to name just a few.

Well, its not exactly good bus territory. Its an area I grew up in, and the reasons its never really been great territory are probably quite complicated.

Harlow is a lot more stable these days, with the two main operators just TRustybus and Arriva, but both operators seem rather shoddy!

Does Trustybus still do a timetable book? Picked one up from Harlow a couple of years back and I was impressed with it.

The Trustybus timetable booklet you mention is quite impressive. However, I believe its the only one they have ever produced. My last visit to Harlow Bus Station had no Trustybus timetables. In fact, their website hasn't been updated with new timetables either! Quite a shoddy operation, which contrasts greatly with parent company Galleon Travel which I believe has a good reputation.

Many of the operators were inter-connected, I understand.
EOS were part of Swallow Coaches.

Roadrunner and Olympian were part of Olympus Bus & Coach, itself seemingly linked to Townlink Buses (previously known as SM Coaches).

Indeed, Roadrunner/Olympian/Townlink/SM Coaches were all inter-connected, and your typical 'cowboy' operation. A few run-ins with the TC helped get rid of those (eventually).

EOS were indeed part of Swallow Coaches, and was a pretty decent operator. They put a lot more effort into publicity and Twitter than any of the other operators. It was a shame to see them go, but it was their own decision to cease operations. The EOS contract routes (Essex CC) are still operated by Swallow.

Trustybus is part of Galleon Travel. A few years ago they sold the Trustybus operations to Centrebus, but they failed to make a success of it. Then Logic Transport started (which was sort of related to Galleon, I think), which eventually became Trustybus again.

Logic where indeed related to galleon travel as far as I’m aware I’ve used Both EOS and trustybus and found them both to better than arriva in my personal opinion arriva in Harlow are good at using Under hand tactics for force a company to withdraw a service and then take over the service or register it themselves and then a little while later down the line withdraw the service
