Near Ashurst New Forest Station
In the late Sixties H & H was the smelliest station imaginable. How so? The Nestle Nescafe factory in Hayes chucked out coffee roasting fumes that spread all over the town. And stank the station out. You could tell you were getting near H & H on the slow line from Southall by the coffee smell. In those days there was a Tarmac I think siding etc. with shunter on the London end, north side.

Trains in both directions should be going a fair rate of mph unless they are stopping. They were flying by when I last photted there.

Just looking at a video I took a few days ago from the back cab of the HEx, it seems to go down to 80mph at the points of airport junction (in the down direction this is). :)

I personally wouldn't go to Hayes & Harlington, it isn't the most enticing area to go to and the surrounding area isn't very nice

Using the immobile-mobile phone, to find out what I was doing the next day before Resources went home. As you may know, it takes some time to get through to them... :p ;) :D

So what's that 80mph there for then?

;) let you off lol

The 80mph board is for the bi-directional DM (airport junc to southall) in the UP direction

Ah Ok. Well that's the last time I answer any question to do with the HEx, or anything to do with the area between Paddington & Heathrow for that matter. Might as well save myself some embarrassment! ;)

Fairly certain the limits are 125 on the mains at Ealing Broadway and 80 on the reliefs.

There seems to be a permanent construction site near the station, so its not the best place for taking videos.

90 in places on the DR to w ealing and hanwell to southall
125 mains to acton west

Hayes is not the most photogenic of stations hanwell prob best for pics or vid's you can always leave the station and get some good pics overlooking Wharncliffe viaduct see link;)

Is that in Minet County Park? Meant to try there one day but I'd need some elevation!

You'll need a fire truck, a helicopter or a cherry picker if you want elevation.

could always get run over and insist on being on the top floor of the ealing hospital opposite the viaduct, now there's elevation in more than one way lol:lol::lol::lol:

I wouldn't put that past some photographers if it meant getting a full sun shot (minus the running over)!
