Hi Everyone,

hope this is in the right place and this thread is allowed.

I am looking for the signal numbers for the Down And Up Branch between Heaton Norris Junction and Denton Junction. The Signals numbers that I am after are the ones heading from Heaton Norris to Denton at Reddish South Station please. I believe the one before Reddish South is a Distant signal, and the one after is a 3 Aspect colour light. the Maps that I have are showing HN??

Thanks in advance

Just from memory, when walking along the adjacent footpath to Reddish Vale my recollection of the 3 aspect colour light after Reddish South towards Denton are that it is DJ rather than HN. Hopefully someone better in the knowledge than I can confirm though?

According to the map i am looking at, its showing HN for the two at Reddish and then DJ for the following one, but no numbers on the two at Reddish...just showing 'HN??'

Hi, I am modelling the Reddish South station; from the canal bridge (compressed) to the station and good yard and then about a mile towards Denton (see attached). I have some photographs (thanks Ash and others) of some of the signals. Do you have any signalling diagrams from 1950/60?after.

Thanks

Have you tried the Signalling Record Society? Www.S-r-s.org.uk. Or signalbox.org?

That looks like an awesome layout you are creating there Andy, I wish you the best of luck with it and please get back when it’s finally completed!

Although I don't think much has changed (but Stalybridge has, I think), note that my diagrams attached are a good ten or more years old, so you could correlate them with - for example - Open Train Times maps to validate.
I have posted more detailed diagrams of Stockport in earlier threads (for example, #6 ) which you could search for, all of which came from postings freely available elsewhere. Stockport's only significant change since 1976 was to replace the point levers and mechanical ground signals with electrically operated ones.
