How are you supposed to upload a Railcard to SWR's tap2go?

Context:
- tap2go is SWR's smartcard system
- I have a fully digital 16-25 Railcard
- The Railcard app does not allow screenshots (any taken will result in a blank screen)
- In order to apply the Railcard to the smartcard, you must upload an image of your Railcard

This feels intentionally confusing to me. I've tried three or four times, and each time got the same canned response:
"The image must contain both the railcard and the accompanying photocard for this railcard type".
Even though their own website contradicts this (see right):1678365664398.png

Genuinely, what do SWR expect me to do here? What even is "photocard ID"?

You could take a photo of your railcard with another device.

Photocard presumably refers to the picture associated with the Railcard, but as far as I am aware, this is a standard component for all railcards (digital ones show an image when you open them, and physical ones have the image printed on them).

With GTR, a screenshot of my Railcard in the Trainline app was enough for them to add it to my keyGo account, and my friend took a photo of their Railcard in the official Railcard app and that was fine too, so I assume the same should be true here.

Physical 16-25 railcards would come in two parts, photocard and railcard. The digital incorporates the photo and that is why the photocard id is not a required field as you can ignore it with a digital railcard.

Not all. I have a plastic senior railcard with no photo of me on it. Nor was one supplied as part of the application.

I assume that, in that case, you'd need a photocard from a ticket office, like you would get for a season ticket.

The Senior, Disabled Persons', Family & Friends and Network Railcards do not require a photograph.

You are not required to have a photocard (or any form of photographic ID) to use one.

Theoretically not, but if SWR wanted to enforce it for their specific smartcard ticketing product, I'm sure they could.

I'll give this a shot. I never got a physical photocard, but my digital one *does* have a picture of me on it - aforementioned no-screenshot issue raises its head again.
I do wish SWR updated their website though; for all the swankiness of the front end, the backend does look like a relic of twenty years ago.

To be clear for those wondering about the photocard:
IF the railcard requires a photo (like the 16-25 railcard) and is purchased at a ticket office, a separate photocard linked to the railcard will be provided
If it is purchased online, either as a digital or physical version, the photo will be on the railcard itself, a separate photocard is not required
