Hi,

I applied for 2 jobs with virgin trains, the closing date was before christmas.

My application status says 'candidate processing'

Does this sound promising? And should I have heard something by now?

I'm asking because I don't think virgin tell you if you have been unsuccessful!

Many thanks folks

In my experience Virgin always tell you when you've been unsuccessful, usually by email, so if you've not heard anything yet there's still a chance you might be invited to a selection event.

I would guess that it might depend on various, such as the number of cnadidates, how thorough the processing is for each application, and who is tasked with doing it.

In my organisation (non railway), it can take anything from a couple of hours to a couple of months to shortlist a vacancy!

Jeez that many? I applied for 2 CSA positions.

If the recruitment event is 11 jan, I guess I won't get an invite now.

Virgin can be unpredictable. They normally reply reasonably quickly, within a couple of weeks but you can wind up being invited to as assessment at a day's notice. It's a case of being patient I'm afraid!

ive had 2 interviews at virgin, you can wait upto 4 months to hear anything. They WILL change the status of your application to unsucsessful if you are ....... well, unsucsessful and send out an e-mail. if its still processing or in progress then its still live. good luck

Thanks folks, that is really reassuring to hear, it's driving me mad that having applied a few times, spending days working on the application, and I still don't get to the recruitment event.
Like previously stated so many people must apply I suppose.
Thanks for the advise! Ill keep you posted

i had my last interview for CSA crewe last July - i dont want to worry you but there was talk of 450 people applying and 45 being interviewd over 3 days - a few people there were already working for virgin via an agency or something. My first interview was in 2009 and i actually got the job in Manchester but after i got it they sent me an E0mail saying it was being pulled due to "business constraints" - its a tough old business!! Good luck
