I was caught using my dad’s railway pass and I am worried that he will get in trouble. I am very remorseful and I am willing to pay fines. What is the process?
There would seem to be quite a strong possibility of that - he could even lose his job. Does he know about this? If he doesn't you need to tell him as a matter of urgency.I was caught using my dad’s railway pass and I am worried that he will get in trouble.
It was a railway card passWhat sort of pass was it exactly?
What journey were you making?
Where were you caught, and by which company?
What did you say to the person who caught you?
I have told him, i don’t want him to lose his job. My God. I will pay the fines. He has been a driver for 20 years and he is receiving his pension nowThere would seem to be quite a strong possibility of that - he could even lose his job. Does he know about this? So, is he retired or is he working for a train company? He has been a driver for 20 years and he is receiving his pension now
He is a bus driver and I am not financially dependent on him. I recently started a new jobSo, is he retired or is he working for a train company?
I think it would also help us to understand what age you are - are you financially dependant on your dad?
It was an annual passWas it a Monthly/Weekly pass?
Your dad will not lose his job.It was an annual pass
That would be wishful thinking, but it seems he is retired anyway. If he is not working for the railway he can't lose his job over this.Your dad cannot be held responsible for your actions. You took his belongings without his knowledge. If the TOC even attempts to go down the disciplinary route, it would be firmly fought by his union.
I hope not, he doesn’t deserve that. I was interviewed and told that they would be sending a letter to my addressYour dad will not lose his job.
What did they do the Inspectors?
Were you interviewed or did they Penalty Fare you and give you a sheet of paper. Telling you that you can appeal and/or pay within 21 days?
Or did they just give you a warning?

Yes he is a bus driver and has a staff free pass for the year. He has never been a railway employee. He is a bus driver and has been for 20 yearsJust for clarity, as I am not sure where your statement that he is a bus driver relates to a railway pass. Is the pass he has one for retired railway staff and he is no longer a railway employee? Or was he a railway employee and is now a bus driver? I think we need to know what status he has as an employee or former employee? And what company or companies are involved?
We are talking about a staff free travel pass of some sort, not a season ticket, are we?
It was a railway staff passIs it a TFL pass?
A pass that he pays for?It was a railway staff pass
How can he have a railway staff pass, as you've stated on post #14 that he's never been a railway employee? It was a railway staff pass
London bus drivers get free travel on TfL rail servicesHow can he have a railway staff pass, as you've stated on post #14 that he's never been a railway employee?
But not on Thameslink from Luton to London, so the OP didn't have a valid ticket of any sort, and the pass might be incidental to the matter.London bus drivers get free travel on TfL rail services
He had a price on it and it was blue, like I said. I moved to Luton from London, it’s strange when you don’t have an oyster to travelA pass that he pays for?
That sounds like a season ticket. He had a price on it and it was blue, like I said. I moved to Luton from London, it’s strange when you don’t have an oyster to travel
I think the revenue inspector confiscated the oyster in questionUpload a picture. Redact any personal details.
