Just received news of the date for this year- 15th August, and owing to traffic problems last year in the vicinity of Imber, private vehicles including bicycles will not be allowed on the military roads, the only civilian vehicles allowed will be buses running the service

The MOD are always looking for reasons to reduce the number of access days, I suspect it wont be long before it's only allowed on specific vehicles.

I'm not sure that's actually true, there's plenty of other open days when you can walk, drive or cycle:

Until a few years ago it would have been 3 weeks in the summer, some time at Easter and a couple of weeks at Christmas, they've been reducing it for a number of years (relocations from Germany wont have helped of course).
