hi people spent all week looking for info on a tran set i found in the loft.
i have search and search internet to no avail.

tri-ang hornby
model railways
clockwork train set
THE LOCAL
HH/OO
made in england rovex scale models limited
RS.85
picture of a level crossing with a train and carage and a red and green car

any info please as its got my head done in look for this

Sounds like your set RS85 was probably made around 1969, possibly for one of the leading catalogue companies, eg; Kays, Littlewoods, Grattens etc; or for the overseas market.
If the above is the case, then the set won't be listed in any of the Uk Triang Hornby catalogues.

Can you give a description of the contents of the set or post a photo or two to aid identification.

According to Pat Hammond's history of Triang, Volume 2 The Story of Rovex 1965-71, this set was limited to 1967, when around 24,800 were made.
