Instagram blogging and content creation

Has anyone here delved into the world of social media content creation?

I ask because I have an idea to create a travel blog on Instagram that focuses specifically on journeys that can be made by public transport. My aim is to increase the general public's knowledge and awareness of public transport routes and itineraries across the UK, and I intend to showcase this by curating an Instagram feed of photographs, custom-made maps and video reels from my travels. If this goes well, I may also look at including content on topics such as tips on travelling with autism (which I have) and using ChatGPT to assist with journey planning (which isn't very good atm, so might make for a ton of amusing content on pointing out mistakes)

I'm not intending for this to be a profit-making venture initially, but rather a way of promoting and encouraging sustainable travel while showcasing my talents and adding something extra to my CV.

When going about this, would it be wise to tag the relevant public transport companies and visitor attractions etc in my posts. While this will help promote the businesses and potentially open up affiliate marketing opportunities, I wonder if it could be an issue if particular transport routes and destinations become overcrowded, knowing how quickly people tend to jump on the social media trend bandwagon.

As with many public Instagram accounts, consistency is key to gaining a following and I would aim to post at least once a week. What would be your advice for embarking on a project like this?

Just start. You'll work out how to improve as you go along. Post your account and I'll give you a follow.
This is absolutely correct. There is nothing scientific about Instagram really, just try different things and see what works!

For context, my instagram account is general life and I don’t post train stuff there.

Best advice is to just start. Stay low-key for the first few videos while you work out what you are doing and what works, because it is likely some stuff which seems a great idea in planning doesn't really translate in the real world. Once you are happy then start tagging orgs in if you like, and you can repost the earlier stuff with relevant edits.
