Installing Issues (Bloody Hell!!!)

Ah, computers. Ruddy things, they don't like me!

So I've gone and bought myself Rail Simulator. On this PC, it doesn't work for some graphic reason, but there is a newer PC in my house with 'high-spec graphics' or something, but everytime I try to install it, it comes up with this:

(it then gives me only three options, and these are

- Modify [select new program features to add or select currently installed features to remove]
- Repair [Reinstall all program features installed by the previous setup]
- Remove [Remove all installed features]

Now, I had previously tried to install it earlier today, but failed, as it shut down Windows! But Windows recovered later, and that's what I'm left with. That's frustrating enough, but none of them end up doing anything...

I'm calling all computer lords, rail lords and perhaps a mix of both to aid me in this situation. Would be appreciated!

Repair. This goes along and fills in the the gaps which the previous installation missed due to Windows crashing, but also re-installs any damaged parts of the game which were installed on your system prior to the crash.

Sorry, re-read and noticed you said nothing does anything.

Try accessing your control panel, go to 'Add or Remove Programs'. Try uninstalling Rail Simulator via that, and, if successful, attempt installation again.

Thanks, but for some reason, on the control panel when I click either 'Remove' or 'Change', it goes onto the ShieldWizard thing and says 'Preparing to Install' again.

Essentially, I'm just looking how to uninstall this, but technology for me is operated in a control room where Satan is in charge, and I'm becoming his bitch. Computers HATE ME.

Use System Restore to roll back the system to before you ever installed it. Then install again.

Right. Okay, it's installed.

but now each time I actually try and play it, it comes up with this error:

RailSim.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Everysingle time! The 'error report' says something about information and licencing....

Ahhhhh.

Use System Restore to roll back the system to before you ever installed it. Then install again.

How do you do that?

Log onto the administrators account, then:

Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > System > System Restore.......

I've got that far, but I dont see how you restore it You can tell I'm not good with computers!

Okay, then, here's a simple solution....

1. Start > All Progams > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

2. Then, your on a 'welcome to system restore' thing. If it isn't already, click on the box for 'Restore my computer to an earlier time'. Click next.

2. You are given what is essentially a history calender. Click to the date you want to restore it to, ie the date before your problems. Click next.

3. There will be a couple of things telling you to save unsaved documents etc. Do this, then go ahead with the restore (click next).

Bite the bullet, cut off the back page of the manual or take the disc, and mail them to Contact Sales along with this form: Trade Up PDF.

Get RailWorks and let steam handle all the issues. If it dont work, mail [email protected] and it will get fixed.
