When was the stand back behind yellow line on platforms introduced ? if I can remember correctly I first saw them about the time when the HST Service was introduced on the East Coast and the West of England services from Paddington , or was the yellow line introduced way before HST ?
Thanks in Advance , Regards Dave1954 ..

I agree as well. The first time I saw them was at Bristol Parkway. IIRC it was just before the HST's started.

I have a vague recollection that yellow lines appeared on the platforms at Wigan North Western to coincide with the start of trials of APT-P on the WCML (with some sort of info posted at the station to explain that's what the yellow lines were for). This would make it round 1981.
