Is there a European (or specifically Italian) equivalent of real-time trains? (i.e. shows all trains with passing times too)

Not to my knowledge. One of the things that GB railways are ahead of our Continental friends is open data. We have things like RTT because there has been a drive to make data more available to use by third-parties who have then turned into things that are extremely useful. As far as I'm aware there has not been as similar drive in Europe so there is no real equivilent and you're reliant on various operator specific apps of varying quality (and none of which come close to RTT).

There definitely is quite some open data available in continental Europe and non operator specific apps do exist. Can't remember the URL, but have once seen a map with real time public transport on the entire continent.
However, the main difference is that none of them is as detailed as real-time trains is.

The nearest thing to my knowledge is an app called orariotreni. With thanks to @D6130 who originally brought it to my attention

You can find Italian train running information in real time here: http://www.viaggiatreno.it/infomobilita/index.jsp (the interface is a bit clunky).

It doesn't give a huge amount of detail: you can't find passing times or data from previous days.

There's also RFI's Train Monitor

That includes Italo services which I think are missing from viaggiotreno but, again, it doesn't do what the OP wants.
