Italy, with FIP coupons

Greetings.
Just a question for any fellow staff on here that may know, travelling around italy with the free coupons, are they valid on their high speed network with a reservation?

I have heard that the train from Rome airport to the centre is not valid with the free coupons, but I have not seen this restriction on the ATOC site or anywhere else.

Hopefully someone has the answer to save time and confusion when booking any relevent tickets/reservations via DB!

Best info I can find is below, (FS is the Italian Railways). From what I am reading, it seems that coupons are a bit of a waste of time in Italy as most journeys require a supplement or you to pay the normal FIP fare. Regional trains allow you to use your coupons without reservation/restriction, but anything similar to "intercity" etc want you to pay the normal FIP fare (50% discount).
