I am planning on being around the route of the Jacobite train in early May. Not being familiar with the area I was wondering about the best places to photograph the train.
I will have a car but don't want to go a long distance off road or on foot to photograph it.
I will have one full day and part of another day to try and get some decent photo's - weather permitting.

Any help appreciated.

"Bridge View", overlooking Glenfinnan viaduct, and about a 15 - 20 minute walk from Glenfinnan station itself, is a very popular viewpoint, but might not meet your criteria of not being too far off road. Parking could be limited.

Thanks, that sounds okay. I didn't want a long walk, 15-20 minutes is fine.

Generally accepted advice is that if you set off for "Bridge View" from Glenfinnan station / Glenfinnan just as the Jacobite is departing Fort William (normally 1015 and/or 1220), you should get up there in good time for when the steam train crosses the Glenfinnan viaduct.

Very helpful, anyone know of any other locations worth a visit?

Accessibility is always an issue, but reckon that you should get some decent photos of the Jacobite train(s) in the Corpach/Banavie area, having just set off from Fort William.
