Hi,

On Thursday, I would like to make the journey between London Liverpool Street and Shenfield, but ONLY on Abellio Greater Anglia trains. Not TFL rail as they have an RRL between Brentwood and Shenfield. I will have a Zone 1 -6 Travelcard, would this be valid on their trains? If so, how far? Could I go to Shenfield on the travelcard? If not, which ticket would I need if I already had a travelcard?

Thanks.

PS - My Travelcard is an anytime day travelcard.

Yep Travelcards are valid on GA services within the zones. As Shenfield is outside Zone 6, you will need a Boundary Zone 6 - Shenfield ticket as an 'extension' ticket.

Anytime Day Return: £6.70
Off-Peak Day Return: £6.30

Would this ticket be valid on GA services? And are they the PRIV fares?

If you were prepared to endure an all stations train to Shenfield (but why?) the bus one stop from Brentwood to Shenfield hardly makes much difference. Of course you could spend the £6.30 you'd save on a pint (and a half) in the Hutton Junction. Cheers.

You could always purchase a Zones 1-9 Travelcard for £13.10 (e.g Chesham to London Zones 1-6, that comes out as 'Also Available At' London Zones 7, 8 &9) and a Brentwood to Shenfield return (£3.60, or 90p with a Staff Travel Card discount).

Indeed I was thinking about a Zone 1 - 9 travelcard, but have worked out it would be cheaper to buy the Zone 1 - 6 travelcard using my 16-25 railcard and then buy the Boundary Zone 6 to Shenfield Off Peak day Return using my PRIV. Will probably just do that then. Thanks very much for all your help.

It doesn't matter how you get to Shenfield, the fare remains the same.
