I bought a ticket from Grindenwald to the summit with a interrail pass discount.

My ticket has reservation time for the main gondola (which I intend to use on the way down, using the cog railway on the way up).

Do I have to stick to my reservation time to take the gondola or can I just show up at any time?

Never had to before, but I think compulsory reservations have been introduced this year to cope with high passenger numbers, so it's quite new... not sure.

Probably best to message them [email protected] and perhaps tell us how you got on :)

I have sent an email, but as a note

Your benefits

  • Guaranteed time slot on the Eiger Express from Grindelwald Terminal or the Jungfrau Railway from Kleine Scheidegg
  • No waiting time when changing to the Jungfrau Railway at the Eiger Glacier station
  • Guaranteed non-numbered seat on the connection booked on the Jungfrau Railway
Seat reservation mandatory: 01.05.2025 - 31.08.2025

The last part about mandatory strongly that you are required to follow the timeslot given in your ticket.
