1130 5E17 Great Yarmouth Carriage Sidings to Keighley and Worth Valley railway move by rail operations group.
Keighley and Worth valley appear to have brought some coaches from Eastern European Rail Services at the Sidings at Great Yarmouth.
Does anyone know what they will be using them for in due course?
Also is it possible are some coaches now to be stored there instead?
Or is Keighley and Worth Valley railway themselves doing some sort of intercity type services themselves or more a different type of service also?
Any further information is much appreciated. Thank you.

Wonder where they are going to park them? Keighley headhunt, as with the Pacers in lockdown?

RTT now says that the service was cancelled - and that it reached KEI an hour ago :)

As kindly requested from the non urgent tops thread reported to be 10249 12182 12180 12176 x4 ex Arriva Wales/Tfw mk3 coaches. The ones that got moved from Castle Donington mid July this year. Interesting to see what film it will be. Also whether and what Keighley and Worth Valley railway might haul them with for filming.

5E17 arrived a hour early last night due to some exceptional work by the Leeds Sub ROC Signallers who managed to slot us across Leeds early.
The coaches will be hauled by the resident diesel fleet during 3 days of filming and then the vehicles will return to Yarmouth most likely the following week.

Nice photo, nice loco's. I assume it's all a big secret however so you can't enlighten us further on what's being filmed?

Now in Ingrow yard. On hire not purchased I assume, can't think what permanent use they would be :)

Well, the TOC is called the Great Central Railway according to posters on Keighley.

Indeed.

The Mark 3s are at Ingrow together with 143625, which I saw moving around Haworth yard on the Monday so might also be for the same project.

The amount of detail which has gone into the set dressing at Keighley- down to imaginary bus timetables in the West Yorkshire Road Car frame- is impressive and suggests that the station is going to be on screen for quite a while.20221105_154057.jpg

The platforms have been renumbered too; the main KWVR platform is now 7.

Keighley is a great place to film a modern railway scene, as you have the real contemporary railway in the background and providing the sound effects too.

Other photos on SM show a free-standing electronic departure board and mock "gates" - all very intriguing, and very different from the typical "period" stuff that gets filmed here.

I didn’t know anything about this but credit to the people filming (and funding!) this and the KWVR for being flexible and willing to adapt to help bring in some income in the period between “High Season” and “Santa Specials”

It’ll be increasingly rare for production crews to go to this level of effort, in an era where CGI etc can provide a lot of things that once required finding several locations and schlepping gear/people between them

And I love the way that they seem to be trying to replicate the “humdrum” nature of a Provincial TOC

If they are featuring a no-heat 37 on a rake of aircons, then they need to feature a bunch of cranks for full authenticity!

Impressive stuff. Careful about the argument you'll start on here about drinking on trains though. Hopefully the Saturday night hen do will be a key part of the script :)
