News report on the incident from MyLondon website.

A man is causing severe delays on the London Overground this morning (Monday, June 17) after throwing items onto railway tracks from a roof near Kensington (Olympia) station.

The Metropolitan Police say they were called at 4.21am to reports of the man, who was on a roof in Russell Gardens Mews.
When officers arrived, they found the man had thrown a number of items down onto the railway tracks near Kensington (Olympia) Overground station. The man then climbed a tree, where he remains five hours later."

Always the worst sort of incident that - got to get the police negotiators involved and can become really protracted.

Definitely worth a bus to Earls Court / Shepherds Bush / Willesden Junction to continue onwards. I imagine the freight impact is bad too.

Causing serious disruption to freight services

Some seem to be bypassing Kenny O. I notice some of the aggregate services to/from Wembley appear to be taking a diversionary route between Wembley & Clapham Junction/Wandsworth Road.

Trying to figure out what route though. Maybe via Kew?

At a guess, Willesden-South Acton-Barnes-Clapham Junction-Wandsworth Road.

Real Train Times doesn't show many diversions, but does show a lot of cancellations. Freight service 6M39 from Cliffe to Willesden Euroterminal was running 20 minutes late at Clapham Junction, and arrived nearly ten hours late at Olympia, quite some delay. Freight service 6O98 from Whatley to Allington via Clapham Junction and Redhill was diverted from Acton Wells to Clapham Junction, presumably reversing and going via Kew Bridge, then diverted to Tonbridge, presumably through Brixton and one or another way through to Sevenoaks. Freight service 6L37 from Hoo to Whitemoor presumably went Longhedge to Willesden Junction via Kew Bridge rather than via Olympia.

I suspect this is the same customer that has been on roof of Wood Lane station recently and also caused delay on Metropolitan line in St John’s Wood area. Has a taste for delays now

6O05 just ran through Olympia using the down line in the up direction. The up line (which is the one closest to the person on the roof) is still shown as blocked though.

I suspect he (or she, or they) will be spending some time inside courtesy of His Majesty given what has been going on.

I sometimes think that TFL should run a parallel bus route from Clapham Junction to Willesden Junction so when the line gets shut local traffic can be catered for.

Please fix the font if you're going to copy from a website. It's borderline unreadable.

49 already goes from Clapham Junction to White City. Should imagine anyone going from Clapham to Willesden Junction would be quicker going via Richmond on the train

The 295 bus route goes from Clapham Junction to Ladbroke Grove and goes by Shepherds Bush station; if one changes to the 220 at Hammersmith or Shepherds Bush Green, one can get to Willesden Junction. An exact parallel isn't possible. When I worked in Brook Green, it was very much quicker to catch the train from Clapham Junction to Olympia than take the 295, even taking in the ten-minute walk from Olympia.

Are these lines reversible? Freight service 6V92, Allington to Whatley, went through Olympia at around 19.00.

It's 21.00 hours and the passenger services are still suspended, according to the TfL website < https://tfl.gov.uk/tube-dlr-overground/status/#line-raillo-overground >, so he's presumably still up there.

I see the incident is only causing minor delays now
London Overground: Minor delays between Willesden Junction and Clapham Junction due to a police incident outside Kensington (Olympia). Tickets are being accepted on London Buses and London Underground services via any reasonable route.

That may only because the service frequency has reduced, but still an extremely limited number of trains.
Well it can't be a minor delay if someone has to wait a while but I guess if less trains booked to run, a long wait would have occurred anyway.

They didn't start a proper service, just ran the last train each way, presumably in an attempt to avoid sorting out taxis. I suspect pretty much all intending passengers had long since given up by that point anyway.

The trains ran on the down line in both directions, the up line is still shown as blocked on Traksy.

South London was a bit of a mess yesterday as well with the juice being turned off at Selhurst due to trespass which caused a fair bit of chaos through East Croydon and up to Clapham Junction. Not a good afternoon down that way...
