Hi all,

Tomorrow I need to make a journey that involves the tube from Kings X to Waterloo. I have a dodgy knee so whilst escalators should be okay, I don't want to have to make my way down many stairs if possible. Can anyone who does this journey tell me how easy it is please?

If you use the new ticket halls at Kings Cross then it is long walk.

Ideally use the original ticket hall (across KX concourse by exit to road), having ignored the signs to the other ones. Victoria line to Oxford Circus, cross platform at Oxford Circus to Bakerloo line.

Not easy to do cross platform if you are in first 2 coaches as the concourse to Central line connection gets in way.

One thing to look out for is that the Bakerloo Line platforms at Waterloo are on a sharp curve, so there is quite a large gap between the train and the platform at the double doors in the middle of each carriage. If you alight using the single doors at the end of each carriage, there will be a much smaller gap to contend with.

You can do the journey step free by taking the Victoria Line to Green Park, and then the Jubilee Line to Waterloo. The disadvantage with this route is that there is a longer walk at Green Park when changing lines, compared to the cross platform interchange between the Victoria and Bakerloo lines at Oxford Circus.

To avoid a long walk at Green Park, use the escalators up to the ticket hall and down again.

Just a thought... what about KIng's Cross to Baker Street on the Met Line then to Waterloo on the Jubilee from there?

Avoids the Green Park issue. At Baker Street a Met Line service will put you close to the way down to the Jubilee. One very short staircase only, then an escalator.

I'm pretty sure there's lifts at King's Cross as well?
