Hi all, I was looking on traksy before I noticed there shows a siding just north of Leyland platform 1 that is called Lancashire Enterprise Siding. Does anyone have any information on this and if it still used as google doesn’t seem to be coming up with any info! Thanks

It's the sidings of the former Leyland Motors plant which lay derelict for years. A Sentinal shunter stood there once but has since found a new home. During the time Preston to Blackpool was closed for electrification Northern brought the sidings into use for stabling a handful of units and they were able to fuel and wash units there too. It used to show as LeylandBLeyland on RTT etc.

The arrangements were only ever temporary during the time Blackpool was closed and the sidings have fallen out of use again.

I think the last freight was when it was served by the Transrail Enterprise Service to Scotland.Taking Steel sheet north and returning from Norfrost near Wick with Freezers.
