For a return between these stations. Flexibility to travel via Birmingham/Bristol and via Reading.

Is there anything better than a through Off-Peak Return route via Bristol for £118.80 which can be excessed on board to a Super Off-Peak Return route Reading not London (£119.80, so an excess of £0.50 in one direction) if desired?

If you want flexible tickets, the super off peak is probably your best option. There's not any real split ticket savings to be had for this journey from a quick check.

If it was me, I'd probably pay the extra £1 upfront and not bother with excessing that way. Less hassle.
