Leyland 5/12/12

I was standing on Leyland last night (5/12) at around 10pm and to my surprise a blue class 86 (86101...I think) came through heading north, dragging a blue 87 of which I didn't catch the number. Was just wondering where they were heading to and what for?

If it was 86101 and 87002 then according to the latest Railway Herald they're moving to Carlisle over the winter for 'icebreaker' duties.

Although they may / are likely to stable at Preston too.
