line between Béziers and Narbonne cut by flooding / storms

Looks bad this - apparently Béziers had three months worth of rain last night, and the Orb rose 12 meters. Part of the line between there and Narbonne was cut, power lines down too:

That line (or at least the bit between Frontignan and Collioure) is amazing, but at times one did get the impression that it would probably be the first thing to go when the sea levels rise a bit.

Nice to see a French railway with British designed products on them (Fastclip).

But, Mon Dieu! Not reopening until 4 November? They need the orange army to pop over.

Well that's my plans for train travel around Perpignan well and truly messed up. A quick scan of departure boards at Elne this morning reveals a very scant service today between Cerbère and Perpignan, basically the through Toulouse trains are still going and a couple of commuter runs into and out of Perpignan. I guess a good deal of TER stock is marooned at Béziers, ie wrong side of the "hole" under the tracks?

Update: trains are running as far as Béziers from Cerbère and Perpignan today but no further east. There doesn't appear to be a rail replacement bus service as far as I can make out. Some with local knowledge suggest changing at Narbonne as coaches do run from there to Montpellier. As per other thread I'm hiring a car to get from Elne to Avignon....
