Anyone know any loco hauled trains within Paris Zones 1-5 these days?

We are there this week and can do any peak time only trains.

Specifically, are there any loco hauled trains from Gare d'lEst around 1810-1830?

There are Transilien and TER/Intercités loco-hauled services accessible with 1-5 zone tickets from all Parisian termini.

From Paris Est specifically, you may get an odd BB 67400 on a La Ferté Milon suburban service. And obviously BB 15000 and CC 72100s on intercité and TER duties.

I'm pretty certain that loco hauled trains still run from Gare du Nord to Amiens where they swap from electric to diesel before heading north.

The terminus with the most is probably Montparnasse, with the majority of Transilien trains being push-pull double decker sets.

Not sure where the zones go but loads of stoppers out of Montparnasse (plus TER 8600 and broken noses in peak) and St Lazare as starters. Maybe still a few suburban 17000 out of Nord as well. Should be some diagrams on ERG... Out of Montparnasse it's anything towards Versailles, from St Lazare generally fast to Argentuil trains although some on other lines as well.

Diesels should do 1705/1805ish Paris Est-La Ferte (67400) and possibly the 1750 Nord-Laon but that may be a cart now.

:49 TER Bourgogne (or whatever it is now under the new region map to Laroche-Migennes call at stops in zone 5 - Melun, Bois le Roi, Fontainbleau Avon, Moret Venoux les Sablons, Montereau (Paris area but out of zones?) then out of Paris area. (Gare de Lyon)
17:12 Paris Est - Troyes is also hauled (or at least used to be); this train is first stop Longueville, in zone 5. No other Intercités trains from Paris Est hauled by CC 72100s call at Longueville.

Stay on until Crouy-sur-Ourcq having grabbed a seat in the front compartment. The train empties out (80%) at Meaux, you can then lower the windows at your pleasure.

Don't know if anybody who is closer to the ground knows any better, but I haven't seen a timetable for withdrawing the 67400 + RIO trains?

You can check the predicted formations from the Transilien control centre on https://malignep.transilien.com/composition-des-trains-ligne-p/ - you are looking from 'RAME INOX'

I miss the Paris Est diesels :(

There are also a small number of TERs formed with extremely comfortable Corail stock hauled by 7200s that are available between Gare de Lyon and Melun.

They occupy some of the slots that are normally used by the double deck EMUs and are non-stop between Paris and Melun; the zonal tickets are valid. Off the top of my head there are 3 daily diagrams, maybe 4.

Yes these are one in the same thing as had already been quoted, as per '72100'

Montereau is in Zone 5 and is the last stop available on these trains with a 'Paris' zonal ticket

Even a few years ago I was surprised to find that these were bucking the unit trend as 7200+Corail and running out of Gare de Lyon where they are about the only 'real trains' left!

TER Bourgogne (or whatever it is now under the new region map
17:12 Paris Est - Troyes is also hauled (or at least used to be); this train is first stop Longueville, in zone 5.

The new region is Bourgogne Franche Comte, but for now the railway TER regions are mainly being kept separate as the previous individual regions - for simplicity it seems.

The 17.12 Troyes still calls at Longueville at 18.04 and is still 72100 hauled AFAIK

BB17000+RIB sets still work Translilien K services from Gare du Nord to Crepy an Valois as well as Translilien H from Creil to Pontoise.

Both are not very pleasant routes though.

Also most Translilien R and J services from Paris Montparnasse and St. Lazare respectively use loco hauled VB2N double deck stock.

Apart from the La Ferte Milton extras already mentioned Est is mainly units.

As for units, the MS61s are now withdrawn, so the best out of what left are probably the Z5300s (D, R), the Z6400s (L) and the modern Z50000s.
