I was wondering if anyone knew what the deal was with Stainer Street at London Bridge, particularly the Southern half of it. After a brief period being open to the public after the rebuild was completed it seems to have been behind scaffolding for the better part of the pandemic. Passing through this week I noticed a more substantial temporary wall structure had been put up, again blocking whatever they're doing there from public view.
I just wondered if anyone knew what the deal was? Are there still issues with leaks or something? Or are they turning it in to something else?
It's useful to be able to cut through it when the station is closed at night!
Likewise, I wondered if we'l ever see the escalators on Joiner Street up to the former Cottons Row footbridge level open again. Not that these would be particularly useful nowadays. But the signs still say closed for escalator maintenance (I think). Have Network Rail given up or decided not to fix them for cost reasons?
