Just had a look at Coombe Jcn / Moorswater on the Looe Branch in Cornwall - major work underway clearing the (substantial) vegetation from the freight line and run-round loop. Firm appropriately called 'Ground Control' has set up a compound to chip the (numerous) trees. Just housekeeping or a freight revival? I have always favoured a park and ride station at Moorswater (it is very close to the A38) for Looe, like St.Erth for St. Ives.

Next job for the company clearing Okehampton to Meldon?

You wouldn’t be able to maintain an hourly service with one unit if trains had to continue to Moorswater. There’s already a reasonable size car park at Liskeard IIRC from a trip to Looe last year.

If you scroll down this page (which has loads of interesting Cornish railway photos) there are a couple of mentions of the Moorswater clearance.

As I read the older post I think it’s saying that they are clearing down toward Looe and need to bring all the wood out, so are clearing to Moorswater just for access/worksite reasons for this work.
