The first passengers rode on the new Skoda electric trains on Friday, December 15, after years of delays in the purchase of the trains.
Latvian Radio reports that passengers especially appreciate easier, more accessible boarding and quieter travel.
The new trains will operate journeys in the direction of Aizkraukle, Tukums, Skulte, and Jelgava. In total, Latvia will receive 32 new trains.
