Hi guys, I’ve just completed my SJT with OPC. 25 questions in 70 minutes. I tried to spend 2.5 minutes on each question but went slightly over causing me to run out of time. I had 4/5 questions left. Would that be an automatic fail for that test ?

TIA

Most of the psychometrics are designed to apply pressure with a time constraint that makes finishing the entire test unlikely if not completely impossible. In all circumstances I would place accuracy ahead of completion. That said, Situational Judgement Tests don't usually have that same pressure, however I've not sat the M7 in some time so I can't remember exactly how it is presented. However going forwards in other tests... Think about accurately answering as many questions as you can rather than finishing them all.

In the actual job accuracy and safety is valued far more (by the Managers) than arriving on time.

As Mattydo says, during the OPC assessments you will rarely complete everything in front of you and they do this to put you under pressure.

However, you should really finish all 25 questions well within 70 minutes. 2.5 mins per question is a long time and these type of questions are not meant to be pondered and thought over.

You should give the first answer you think is right, do a quick double check and move on. Overthinking these questionnaires is a killer.

Not much help to you now but I’ve found the best tactic is to select the obvious 1st choice and last choice first and then decide on 2nd and 3rd answers last.

Best of luck with your result!
