Manchester Piccadilly lift replacement work (platforms 13 and 14)

The lift serving platforms 13 and 14 at Manchester Piccadilly will be out of action for replacement from New Year’s Eve until 16th May 2022. Am posting this so that any forum members who are affected by this (or know someone who may be affected), are aware! Details available here:

Passengers are being advised about work next year to replace the lift giving access to platforms 13 and 14 at Manchester Piccadilly station.

Whoops - yes, it is indeed from 31st January!

From New Year's Eve?!? NR are lying... it's been out for the last six weeks. Infact, it's been out mostly since 2002

Stannah = Rigging it to break = £££

In defense of Stannah at Vic they wanted (and needed) to replace the entire lift(s), due to parts becoming obsolete. You can only bodge things so many times.

As always the delay is getting the money to do that.
